Goodbye Okinawa

We just received the bad news yesterday.  We won't be moving to Okinawa like we had planned.  As some of you know, Kaitlyn was born with a heart murmur.  Something that needs to be monitored, but under normal circumstances is not a cause for concern.  This, however, led to a bit of drama when it came to getting our medical clearance to move overseas.  Our medical packet was sent for review to Kadena AB a couple of weeks ago, so that they could make sure they have adequate medical staff available to take care of us while we are there.  We had high hopes that things would work out, since Kadena is such a large air base and Okinawa has both an Air Force hospital and a Navy hospital, but no such luck.

Now we have to wait for MAJCOM to assign us to a different base, probably within the Pacific Command group.  Then we'll have to wait a week while that base verifies that we can live there.

So basically we are supposed to be moving in a month, but while we have some guesses we have no real idea where we will be going.  Or when we will have to be there.
